Gospel Statement
With all true disciples in all places and at all
times, and in agreement with God’s Holy Scriptures, we proclaim the gospel of
God’s grace.
We rejoice that our salvation is a gift of God and
not a result of our works; that we are saved by God’s sheer grace through faith
in Christ, our righteousness.
We believe that the holy God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love, decided to save his people who had turned away from their Creator and King.
We believe that God the Son, our Lord Jesus
Christ, accomplished our salvation by becoming human, living a perfect life
under the law, suffering and dying as a sacrifice for our sins, rising for our
justification, and ascending to rule at the right hand of the Father.
We believe that God the Holy Spirit applies the
Father’s love through Christ’s work to sinners by turning them from darkness to
light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may experience forgiveness
of sins and a new life with God.
We belong in the community of the redeemed, the
church, where our calling is to live out this great gospel and make disciples
of Jesus Christ until he comes again in glory to judge the world and establish
his eternal kingdom.
Not to us but to God’s name be glory forever. Amen.
